
Wooster Warriors Team Up With Meals On Wheels

MASSILLON, OH - Meals On Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties and the Wooster Warriors are teaming up to bring hot meals to nutritionally at risk individuals throughout the greater Wooster area the week of November 5, leading up to the puck being dropped on the Warriors' season opening home game on Friday, November 9 at Wooster's Alice Noble Ice Arena versus the Jamestown (NY) Vikings at 7:00 p.m.
The Warriors, members of the Class "A" Mid-Atlantic Hockey League, will begin their inaugural season on Friday, November 2 when they visit the Mon Valley (PA) Thunder. The MAHL, a five-team league which has teams in Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania, plays a 50-game schedule from November through March.
As part of the week-long partnership, Warriors' players, as well as members of the front office, will deliver meals to homebound individuals throughout the Wooster area, with meal pick-up originating from the MOWSW site located at the Wooster Community Center, 241 South Bever Street at 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, November 5-9.

"Volunteers are the lifeblood of our agency," said Meals On Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties CEO, Teresa Barry, "and I'd like to thank the Warriors for taking time out of their busy schedule to assist our agency. Their civic minded nature is commendable and we wish them luck this season as they look to go take the MAHL by storm!"
Meals On Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties depends on volunteers for daily deliveries of hot, nutritious meals to homebound individuals. The Agency has 21 sites throughout Stark and Wayne Counties and is in need of volunteers at all of their sites.
Meals On Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties is a non-profit agency that provides nutritional support to homebound individuals of all ages. Services include delivery of hot meals, breakfast meals, sack suppers, frozen meals, and liquid supplements (pending physician referral) Monday through Friday.
