Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. (December 1, 2003) - The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's exciting new arenafootball2 team, won the prestigious Mayor's Grand Award for the best float at Sunday's "Christmas on Elm Street" parade. The parade, which featured over 70 floats overall, was presented by the city of Manchester and The Talarico Dealerships.
"What an honor it is to win the Mayor's Grand Award," General Manager Angelo Mazzella said. "Our staff members involved in putting the float together did an outstanding job."
The winning Wolves float featured a number of special guests on board, including new head coach Rik Richards and Blitz, the team's official mascot. Manchester native Greg Krause and members of the Bedford Jaguars Football Association also rode along with the Wolves on Sunday to help the team celebrate the holiday season.
The Wolves delighted the people in attendance by tossing nearly 1,000 numbered mini footballs into the crowd along Elm Street. After today's random drawing, the lucky winner of a pair of dream seat season tickets is the fan that grabbed mini football number 600. The winner must present the ball at the Wolves office located at 33 South Commercial Street in downtown Manchester to claim their prize.
Other fun features of the Wolves float included a replica Wolves Arena Football field fully equipped with a goal post and two six-foot inflatable linemen.
Season ticket packages for the Wolves are available for two levels - dream seats and lower bowl seats. Dream seats are available at $260 per season ticket for adults and $160 per season ticket for youths or seniors. Lower bowl seats are available for just $180 per season ticket for adults and $100 for youths or seniors.
The Wolves season is made up of a 16-game schedule that begins in April and runs through July. Eight of the 16 contests will be played exclusively at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Although an official af2 schedule hasn't been released, all Wolves home games are expected to take place on either Friday or Saturday evenings.
