CHICAGO - For the fifth consecutive week, the Manchester Wolves have received the No.1 ranking in the Weekly Coaches Poll, the arenafootball2 (af2) league office announced today. Manchester collected all 228 of a possible 228 points in the securing of the top position.

The Wolves total included nineteen first-place votes, up eight from the last poll in Week 14. Just behind the Wolves in the No.2 ranking, the defending ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats received 205 points and one first place tally. The Memphis Xplorers fall to the No.3 spot with 191 points after a difficult loss against the Tulsa Talons.

The arenafootball2 Week 16 schedule features five matchups of Top 12 teams. On Saturday night at 7:30, the No.11 Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers travel to Estero to face the No.2 ranked Florida Firecats. Also on Saturday night at 8:00 the No.5 Tulsa Talons play host to the No.4 ranked Rio Grande Valley Dorados. The No.1 Manchester Wolves head to the DeSoto Center to challenge the No.3 Memphis Xplorers on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. At 8:30 the No.10 Quad City Steamwheelers welcome the No.9 ranked Amarillo Dusters to the Mark of the Quad Cities. Also at 8:30 on Saturday night, The No.7 Louisville Fire head to Oklahoma City to face the No. 8 ranked Yard Dawgz. All Times Eastern.

Each week during the season af2 coaches will vote for the Top 12 teams in the league by ranking them one through 12 on a ballot. Teams ranked first receive 12 points with the point value decreasing by one for each place below first, meaning a team ranked 12th would receive one point. Total points will determine the Top 12 list. In the event of a tie in total points, the team with the greater number of first-place votes will be ranked higher. The af2 Coaches Poll will be announced every Wednesday during the regular season. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team and the poll results have no bearing on postseason qualification.
