Manchester Wolves News Release

The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional Arena Football team, announced their 2007 schedule today and will begin their fourth season of play Saturday, March 31 on the road when they take on their division rival Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers. Manchester's 2007 home schedule features four Friday and four Saturday night games for the second consecutive season. All eight Wolves home games kick-off at 7:05 PM on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

The Wolves will enter 2007 with one goal and one goal only; a 2007 ArenaCup Championship after back-to-back second round exits in the af2 playoffs u nder the direction of Ben Bennett. Since Bennett arrived to Manchester in 2005 he has transformed the Wolves from a 5-11 squad into perennial playoff contenders, amassing an impressive 22-13 record in two seasons. Currently Bennett has the highest win total (46 games) among active head coaches in the af2.

The Wolves will get things started on the road for the first-time since 2004 with visits to Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Saturday March 31 and Green Bay on Friday April 13 to kick off the season. Manchester will then host their home opener on Saturday April 21, against the expansion Fort Wayne Fusion followed by another home contest against another expansion team, the Mahoning Valley Thunder, on Saturday April 28. The road theme will again play true for the month of May as the Wolves have only one home game, Friday May 11 against East Division Rival Albany Conquest. The Wolves road slate will include travels to: Wilkes-Barre Scranton (Friday, May 4), and first-ever trips to Bossier-Shreveport (Friday, May 18) and Mahoning Valley (Friday, May 25).

The second half of Manchester's schedule begins with back-to-back home contests against the Tulsa Talons on Friday, June 1 and the Albany Conquest on Friday June 8. The Wolves will then split the rest of June with a road game against Bennett's old Florida Firecats squad (Saturday, June 16) before returning home on Saturday June 30 to face the South Georgia Wildcats. Manchester's last four games will prove to be their biggest test as they'll have to finish the season strong with road tests against the expansion Cincinnati Jungle Kats (Saturday, July 7) and the Albany Conquest (Saturday, July 21) with a home contest wedged in the middle against Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Friday, July 13. Manchester's home finale will be on Saturday, July 28 where they'll be looking to seek revenge against Florida, the team that knocked the Wolves out of the second round of the af2 playoffs last year with a nail biting 40-39 victory with just 47 second left.
