This Saturday's match up at a glance – Manchester Wolves (4-1) at Albany Conquest (2-3)

The Conquest are currently in fifth place in the division standings, but have turned the corner a bit of late, scoring two straight wins after starting the year 0-3. Albany is led by veteran QB D. Bryant, who is in his second season with the team. Bryant has thrown for 1,085 yards and 21 touchdowns on the year. He also leads the team with 55 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Leading a well-balanced receiving corps is Manwel Talbert with 34 catches for 428 yards and 10 scores. Travis Coleman stands out on the defensive side for Albany with a team-leading 19.0 total tackles and two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns. The Conquest will be out for a bit of revenge against Manchester this weekend as the Wolves defeated Albany earlier in the season on the road, 56-49, on April 23. The Conquest lead the all-time series, 6-4.

The Wolves are driven on offense by the dangerous duo of QB Jake Eaton and WR/LB J.J. McKelvey. Eaton has been on target for Manchester in 2005, connecting on a league-leading 74.8 percent of his passes. The former University of Maine signal caller is also among the league's elite quarterbacks in passer rating (2nd – 129.0) and touchdown passes (5th – 27). McKelvey has been Eaton's favorite target, as evidenced by his af2-leading 43 receptions. He also ranks near the top of the league charts in scoring with 80 points on 13 touchdowns (12 receiving TDs, 1 INT return touchdown) and one 2-pt conversion. On defense, reigning ADT Defensive Player of the Week, William "Roc" Haith, and fellow DS Allistair Sebastien have become leaders of the secondary. Haith and Sebastien both rank in the league's top-5 in tackles. Veteran FB/LB Kelvin Fuller keys Manchester's defensive front and is tops on the team in sacks, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. The Wolves defense has been stingy all season, allowing just 38.2 points per game.

Wolves Game Five Recap – 5/6/05 – The Manchester Wolves extinguished the Louisville Fire, 46-37, handing them their first loss of the season by holding them to their lowest number of points scored all season. The Wolves' second home win came in front of an exuberant crowd of 6,123 last Friday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. It was another big night for Wolves QB Jake Eaton, who earned his fourth Offensive Player of the Game honor for his performance. Eaton completed 19-of-26 passes for 230 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing for an additional score. Wolves' WR/DB J.J. McKelvey had a strong offensive night as well, catching six passes for 64 yards and three touchdowns. This was McKelvey's fourth consecutive game with at least two touchdowns. Offense was certainly the story in the first half as both teams had little trouble putting points on the board. After the first 30 minutes, Manchester held a slim 26-24 advantage. In the second half, however, Manchester's defense held true, limiting the potent Fire to just seven third quarter points and six fourth quarter points. Leading the effort was ADT Defensive Player of the Game William "Rock" Haith. His achievements included twelve total tackles, seven pass breakups, and one tackle for a loss. Other key Wolves were Marc Bacote (Army Ironman of the Game), Heyward Skipper and Jamaal Perry who each collected a touchdown reception. Bacote also recorded 3.5 tackles on defense.
