Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, NH (February 18, 2005) The Lady Wolves 2005 dance team was selected Saturday in front of about 500 Manchester Wolves fans gathered in the Filene's corridor of the Mall of New Hampshire. 35 girls, some traveling from as far as Tewksbury, Massachusetts, competed for the chance to be named to the 2005 squad.

"Our dance team is a huge asset to this organization," said Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella. "They finished third in the league competition last year and they had a late start out of the gate. They're eyeing first place this year, and we believe this year's team can surpass the accomplishments of the 2004 squad."

The 35 participants performed two routines they learned at the preliminary tryout on February 12th in front of a panel of nine celebrity judges tasked with the critiquing their dance skills. The judges were Mike Deblasi (WNDS), Charlie Sherman (WGIR), George Copadis (representing the Hippo Press), Jack Baldwin (WQLL), Dick Lutsk (WFEA), Kevin Gray (Union Leader), Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett, Wolves dance team coordinator Patty Vilela, and choreographer Heidi Sullivan-Laroche.

"The girls were a big hit last year," said Zoe Cacavas owner of Sol Sisters Tanning and one of the Official Wolves Dance Team sponsors. "Today was just scratching the surface of their success, I can't wait for the start of the season."

Once the dust and sweat had settled, some two hours later, the Wolves dance team was chosen with 24 lucky girls representing 11 towns as follows:

Manchester: Amy Cooper, Elise Favreau, Michelle Gagnon, Debbie Molloy, Kelly Houde, Meghan White, Bridget Wickes, Jennifer Wilusz.

Goffstown: Brooke Bowlin, Shawna Crossman, Quinn Kingston, Jessica Lencki, Lauren Pagliuca, Kimberly Vallee.

Weare: Amber Gamache, Lindsey Watson

Jennifer Cantino (Nashua), Kimberly Connor (Concord), Jessica-Lynn Eisman (Auburn), Kara Laing (Amherst), Mirando Milano (Loudon), Lorin Previte (Tewksbury, MA), Maria Salanitro (Gilford), and Amy Richards (Pembroke).
