
WNBA announces Awards Weekend schedule

NEW YORK, September 23 âThe WNBA Playoffs tipoff tomorrow evening with the Detroit Shock beginning defense of their 2003 championship versus New York at 8 pm ET on NBA TV. On Saturday, September 25 the WNBA will begin presenting its annual awards, which highlight the accomplishments of players and coaches during the regular season. "Awards Weekend" commences with the presentation of the Coach of the Year award and the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award on Sept. 25.
Following is a schedule of WNBA awards and announcement dates:

Four networks will carry 2004 WNBA Playoffs action, which tips-off on September 24. ABC, ESPN2, NBA TV and Oxygen provide coverage through Conference Finals. The 2004 WNBA Finals will be televised exclusively on ESPN2. For more information, go to WNBA.com.
