WNBA and Boost Mobile Announce Greatest Moment in League History as Voted by Fans

NEW YORK and IRVINE, Calif., Oct., 7 2011 - The WNBA and Boost Mobile today unveiled the top moment in league history, as voted by fans: Teresa Weatherspoon's half-court shot at the buzzer to win Game 2 of the 1999 WNBA Finals for the New York Liberty to send the series to a decisive third game ( http://bit.ly/WNBANo1). This moment will be showcased tonight at halftime of Game 3 of the WNBA Finals presented by Boost Mobile on ESPN2 (8:00 PM ET tip off).

The "WNBA Top 15 Moments presented by Boost Mobile" launched in August and gave fans the opportunity to vote for 15 of the most special moments in WNBA history. These moments included outstanding plays and events in league history that were selected by a panel of league executives.

Fans were then able to rank their favorite moments on WNBA.com through Sept. 13, with their votes solely determining the final results. Moments 15 through six were unveiled on WNBA.com during the playoffs, moments five through two were unveiled during the first two games of the WNBA Finals presented by Boost Mobile.
