The Blue Sox and The Republican/MassLive.com are pleased to invite you to purchase tickets to the Western Mass Baseball Hall of Fame banquet on Friday, January 31st, 2014 at the 12th floor ballroom at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Springfield at 5:30pm. Tickets to the event are $40. Tables of 8 can be purchased for $300.
The Western Mass Baseball Hall of Fame was established to recognize and honor the best athletes, teams and friends of the game in our region. As we continue our efforts to build and promote the game throughout the region and take it to new heights, it is important that we acknowledge and honor all those who created a legacy of pride and tradition for our current generations of athletes, coaches and administrators.
In addition to enshrining the first ever class into the Hall of Fame, we are pleased to announce that WEEI.com Editor-in-Chief Rob Bradford will also be in attendance at the event. A 1992 graduate of Springfield College Bradford joined WEEI after serving as a Red Sox beat writer for the Boston Herald and the Eagle-Tribune (Lawrence, Mass.). Prior to manning the Red Sox beat, he spent several years at the Lowell Sun. He has written two books: "Chasing Steinbrenner," following the front offices of the Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays through the 2003 season, and "Deep Drive: A Long Journey to Discovering the Champion Within," which he co-authored with Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell.
MassLive Contributor and local sports caster Scott Coen will emcee the event. Ticket are on sale today!
