DURHAM, N.C. â The Winnipeg Goldeyes and Elmira Pioneers both swept their division's Daktronics Northern League Player of the Week honors for the period ending August 25, the league announced Monday.
Winnipeg infielder Pete Rose, Jr., went 13-for-27 (.481) during the week with 10 runs, four doubles, one homer and seven runs batted in. He posted a .741 slugging percentage and .576 on-base percentage in those seven games.

Winnipeg left-handed pitcher Bobby Madritsch, who fomerly played in the Cincinnati system, was named Northern League Central Pitcher of the Week for tossing 16 2-3 shutout innings and fanning 26.
"My arm's gotten a lot stronger as the year progressed just because every time I went out there I'd throw a lot of fastballs," Madritsch said.

Elmira first baseman Pedro Quero was the Northern League East Player of the Week for going 13-for-30 (.433) with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .452 on-base percentage.

Elmira left-hander Jeff Andra shut out New Jersey on Aug. 23 to earn Daktronics Northern League East Pitcher of the Week honors. The former Oklahoma Sooner allowed three hits and one walk while striking out seven.
