Wings Win 1-0
September 20, 2018 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings used grit and defense Thursday evening to come away with their first victory of the 2018-2019 season beating the Kenai River Brown Bears 1-0. It was obviously a defense battle throughout but Aberdeen was able to sneak away with the win on a stretch pass from Joe Strada to Nic Sicoly to get a breakaway goal midway through the 2nd period scoring the game winning goal. Matt Vernon was brilliant in goal stopping all 24 shots he faced.
The Wings will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow (Friday) when they take on the Janesville Jets at 1pm CST. The game can be seen at Buffalo Wings & Rings in Aberdeen or by logging on to HockeyTV.com. You can always listen to the game on 94.1 The Rock, HubCityRadio.com or The Rock App!
