
Wings Fall to Wave Despite Fourth Quarter Rally

Milwaukee, WI. - Trailing the Milwaukee Wave 13-0 going into the fourth quarter, The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) grit their teeth a went to work.
A lack of Offensive power over the first three quarters had the Wings in far reach from a second W over the weekend. But time would quickly tell that Wichita was not completely out of the game. The Wave led from a multitude of goals from players in the first three quarter, including big goals by Ian Bennett, JP Rodrigues, and Evan McNeley. Onlookers at the US Cellular Arena had clearly written off the Wings long before the game was actually over.
Going into the fourth quarter, the Wings went to work, waiting for the opportune moment to unleash their Offensive prowl. That opportunity came early in the fourth with back to back goals by Bran Perez and Jamar Beasley, igniting the Wings on a run not soon to be forgotten. Over the next 13:30 the Wings stacked score after score on top of Milwaukee. An additional goal by Perez, as well as huge scores from Freddie Moojen, and Carlos "Chile" Farias put the Wings down by only three with 1:33 left to play.
An incredible excitement ran through the US Cellular Arena as Milwaukee's Goalkeeper Nick Vorberg came up with one last crucial save in the final dying seconds of play, putting Wichita's fourth quarter rally to a stop and giving the Wave the final say in a 13-10 win.
In the end, the Wings late fourth quarter rally proved to be to little to late. However, Wichita's ability to score in near cornucopias amounts when required to left virtually everyone but Wings fans flabbergasted following the game.
The Wings return to action on Friday, playing at home in Hartman Arena against the Syracuse Silver Knights. That game kicks off at 7:35pm (CT).
