November 2, 2011 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Wichita Wings News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will kick-off the 2011-2012 season with a premier divisional double header against the Missouri Comets starting tomorrow night at Hartman Arena; kick-off is at 7:05pm Central Time. The Wings will then travel to Kansas City, Missouri on Friday for the second of the two game double header; kick-off for Friday's game is at 7:35pm Central Time

The Missouri Comets are coming off an 8-12 season becoming the semifinalists of the 2010-2011 MISL season. The Wichita Wings are an expansion team joining the MISL this season, and are looking to make an early statement.

The Comets are centering their attack around last year's MISL Most Valuable Player Byron Alvarez. Alvarez will be supported by a good core of players returning to action from last season.

The Wings have established a veteran lead team with the signings of Carlos Farias and Jamar Beasley, along with many other players with professional experience and a handful of rookies. Farias and Beasley are known goal scorers throughout the MISL and look to continue their scoring prowess.
