Wings Add Defender Adrian Gonzalez to Roster

Wichita Wings News Release
Wichita, KS. - The Wichita Wings organization is pleased to announce the signing of defender, Adrian Gonzalez Sandoval. This year Gonzalez played on the Mexican National Futsal team at the Futsal World Cup in Thailand with Wings teammate, Victor Omar Quiroz. Gonzalez comes to Wichita with a rich history of soccer, becoming a professional player at the age of 14 and playing outdoor soccer for Atlante in Mexico's Premiere Division.
"We're extremely pleased to be able to add a player of Adrian's caliber," said Head Coach, LeBaron Hollimon. "His experience and quality will greatly stabilize our defense as well as give us added depth, which will be critical going into the final stretch of the season."
Gonzalez is filling the roster spot of Wings defender, Brady Bryant, who was placed on injured reserve following surgery to repair a fractured big toe. He suffered the injury in the second preseason game but continued to play until it was determined surgery was needed. It is likely that the injury to Bryant is season ending, but there is still a chance that he could rejoin the team late in the season. Gonzalez arrived in Wichita just after the holidays and is preparing to see playing time by practicing with the team.
