Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO - Orlando Predators offensive lineman Torrian Wilson has signed a contract with the reigning Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, the franchise announced today. Wilson becomes the sixth member of the Predators to sign with an NFL franchise in the past year.
Orlando now has an AFL-best nine players on its Other League Exempt list. The team has developed a reputation for player advancement, as its six players on NFL rosters is three times as many as the next AFL franchise.
"We take a different approach than all other teams because player advancement and development is part of what we do here," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "We are looking for the most motivated and competitive players available. Players with this type of mentality aspire to compete at the highest possible level, so it's inevitable that our players will have a great chance of reaching the NFL."
Wilson (6-3, 315, Central Florida) earned second-team All-American Athletic Conference during his senior season at UCF. The Miami native played in 49 games for the Knights with 42 starts coming at left tackle. Wilson joined the Predators on the opening day of AFL free agency and has also been a member of the Detroit Lions.
Wilson joins OL Erle Ladson (Cleveland Browns), DE Earl Okine (Indianapolis Colts), DE TJ Fatinikun (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), DT Austin Brown (New Orleans Saints), LB Brandon Copeland (Detroit Lions), DB Nick Taylor (Saskatchewan Roughriders), WR Khalil Paden (Ottawa REDBLACKS), and QB Trevor Harris (Toronto Argonauts) as Predators players to sign NFL or CFL contracts.
