Wilmington Signs New Head Coach

Dean Murray was named head coach of the Wilmington Waverockers today. Coach Murray replaces Mitchell Wiggins.

Murray spent this past season coaching in Lithuania. He was an assistant coach with Neptunas, Klaipeda in the Lithuanian Basketball League 1st Division. Prior to coaching in Europe he served on Alex English's staff with the North Charleston Lowgators of the NBDL. Before coaching on the professional level Murray coached eleven years at the college level. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he was a member of the Men's Basketball Team and hold's a Master's degree from the University of South Carolina.

"I am excited about the opportunity to coach the Wilmington Waverockers and to coach in the CBL," the new coach commented. "It is going to be a challenge to get the Waverockers turned around, but I truly believe we can give the fans of Wilmington something to get excited about during the second half of the CBL season"

"I am very pleased with the direction the Wilmington franchise is headed now." CBL Commissioner John Jordan said of the coaching change. "Coach Murray is a proven winner, the CBL took another step forward today."
