Bombers Cruise Past Rockers

Published on July 9, 2003 under Carolinas Basketball League (CarBL) News Release

The Charleston Bombers scored 81 points and erased a 14-point halftime deficit with a 137-128 win over the Wilmington Wave Rockers.

Former LSU and Robert Morris guard Gene Nabors scored a CBL Season High 50 points for the Bombers. Daniel Hicks chipped in 27 and Daniel Dennis added 20.

Wake Forrest Alum Robert O'Kelley led the Wave Rockers with 41. UNC-Wilmington 2003 graduate Craig Callahan added 28.

Due to the Charleston Bombers invite to the New York Men's AAU National Tournament this up coming weekend the CBL had to make adjustments to the 2003 Schedule.

"When the CBL is able to be on a National Stage, whether it is the league as a whole or a specific team we have to take advantage of it," CBL Commissioner John Jordan commented on the changes. "Only Charleston will lose home games and no team will adjust any home dates. We all need to cheer the Bombers on in New York."
