August 18, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Texas Wildcatters News Release
BEAUMONT, TX (August 18, 2004) â Texas Wildcatters Head Coach Robert Dirk announced today the Wildcatters have agreed to terms for the 2004-05 season with Ryan Fultz and Chris Taliercio. As per club policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Fultz, who is 26 years old, joined the Wildcatters at the end of January. He had 9 goals, 14 assists for 23 points and 14 penalty minutes in 29 games. Entering his fourth season of professional hockey, Fultz is a veteran of 153 games in the ECHL. His career totals in the ECHL include 45 goals and 119 points as well as a selection to the 2001-02 ECHL All-Star Game.
"Fultz contributed nearly a point a game for us last year and earned the right to come back. Hopefully he will put up similar numbers over a 72 game season." said Dirk.
Taliercio, 25, ended his second professional season in Texas after starting the year with the now defunct Columbus Stars of the UHL. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound forward joined the team from archrival Louisiana towards the end of the season. In 14 games for the Wildcatters Chris tallied 4 goals and 4 assists for a total of 8 points.
"Taliercio is one of those players unseen many nights in the box score but his attitude and desire doesn't go unnoticed by coaches," said Dirk.
The Wildcatters will open their second season on the road against the defending ECHL Eastern Conference Champion Florida Everblades. The home opener is Saturday, October 30 against the Louisiana IceGators. Season tickets for the 2004-05 season are now on sale. For as little as $50.00, you can reserve your seat for the second year of Wildcatters hockey in Southeast Texas.
