Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

Tyler Bruggeman is a name most of the Wildcats would like to forget. The St. Louis Bandits' goalie allowed only one goal in his two victories over the Wildcats on the weekend, 3-0 Friday and 4-1 on Sunday. In between, the Wildcats picked up a 4-1 win of their own against the Bandits on Saturday.

Friday's game saw an excellent effort out of the Wildcats, but Bruggeman came away with the shutout victory. The Wildcats outshot the Bandits 33-32, but couldn't come away with the victory. The Bandits scored a goal in each period to seal the victory.

On Saturday, the Wildcats found the winning formula, as goaltender P.J. Musico stopped 36 of 37 St. Louis shots, and each forward line produced a goal. Thirteen seconds into the second period, Ryan Frost opened the scoring off assists from Tyler Lundey and Brian Sheehan for a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats would score on their second shot of the period as well, with J.T. Osborn scoring off assists from Andy Cramer and Matt Grassa for a 2-0 lead. The Bandits would score their lone goal at the 7:38 mark, but the Wildcats would get it back with under five minutes remaining as Kevin Liss's shot bounced off the end boards to Andy Cramer, who fed Brandon Stroud in front for a 3-1 lead. Jason McAloon would add an insurance tally in the third period off assists from Liss and Tyler Briola for the 4-1 final.

On Sunday, the Wildcats would strike early, but then got shut down by Bruggeman and the Bandits' defense in a 4-1 loss. Jason McAloon scored his second goal of the weekend off assists from Mac Olson and Kevin Liss for a 1-0 lead before the Bandits would pull away with a goal later in the first, two in the second, and one in the third. The Bandits peppered P.J. Musico with 55 shots, with Musico making 51 saves, the third-most saves in a single game by a goaltender in Wildcats' history.

The Bandits and Wildcats will play a three-game series in Wichita Falls this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
