Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release
The Wichita Falls Wildcats have been extremely active in the community in this early hockey season. The Wildcat Players have been visiting elementary schools in the area hosting assemblies encouraging students to read as a part of the Coca-Cola Hat Trick for Reading Program. The players share with the students their experiences in school and with reading.
This is the second straight year the Wildcats have taken part in the Coca-Cola Hat Trick for Reading Program. This program provides elementary students incentives to read. If a student reads three books in one month they will be are awarded one free ticket to a Wildcats game. The student who reads the most books will be recognized at a Wildcats home game on the ice where they will have the honor of dropping the ceremonial first puck before the game.
The Cats have already visited a number of schools including: Kate Haynes, West Foundation, Fowler, Cunningham, Learning Tree, Bible Baptist, McGaha, Big Pasture in Oklahoma, and Brook Village. They currently have scheduled visits with Archer City, Hardin Elementary, Jefferson, Episcopal, and Electra Elementary.
The Wildcats expect to schedule many more assemblies throughout the year. If your school is interested in joining the Wildcats Hat Trick for Reading Program you can contact Brian "Moose" Panik at 716-5587.
