Wichita, KS. - The Wichita Wild is pleased to announce the re-signing of defensive back and fan favorite, Kendrick Harper for the 2013 season. This will be the third season in a row that the former IFL Defensive Player of the Week has played for the Wild.

Harper played football at Hart County High School in his hometown of Hartwell, Georgia. In his junior season, he was named All-Region Honorable Mention as a defensive back and as a senior was All-Region First Team as a wide receiver. Harper went on to Butler County Community College as a starter in the 2005 and 2006 seasons. At the end of his sophomore year, he finished third on the team with 66 tackles and led the team with six interceptions.

In 2007, Harper transferred to the University of Kansas, and as a junior started in three games. He was named KU Co-Defensive Player of the Week against Texas A&M that season. As a senior at KU, Harper started in seven games and finished eighth on the team with 39 tackles.

After his college career, Harper was undrafted in the NFL and signed with the Wild in 2011. In his inaugural season with the Wild, Harper produced 56 total tackles, 8 interceptions and 1 sack. Following his first year performance, Harper was honored as IFL Defensive Player of the week two times in the team's 2012 campaign. Harper earned his first league honor against the Allen Wranglers when he tallied 2 interceptions, 4 tackles, a fumble recovery and a touchdown to give the Wild a 59-41 victory. By the close of the 2012 season, Harper had produced 62 total tackles, one forced fumble and seven interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns.

Harper rejoins the Wild as they prepare for their introductory season in the CPIFL, the Champions Professional Indoor Football League. The Wild's season will kick off March 9 when they travel to Tulsa to take on the Oklahoma Defenders.
