Wichita Wild News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wild Professional Indoor Football team has come to terms with Running Back Tywon Hubbard for the 2013 season. As a rookie out of Central Missouri, Hubbard quickly established himself as one of the top players in the league. He burst onto the indoor football scene leading the league with 2,325 all-purpose yards while racking up 25 total touchdowns for the Wild.
Wild General Manager John Blazek expressed his excitement bringing Hubbard back for 2013. "Tywon is an outstanding playmaker who is clearly one of the best Running Backs in the league. With a weapon like Hubbard, every time he touches the ball he can take it down the field for six points."
Head Coach Morris Lolar emphasized the tremendous value of having Hubbard rejoin the Wild. "Tywon is an important part of this team's success; he has the ability to take over a game as a runner out of the backfield as well as catching passes. I look forward to having him as a part of this team next season."
Hubbard was targeted by defenses across the league because of his triple threat abilities; rushing, receiving, and returning kicks for the Wild. Even with defenders locking onto Hubbard he was able to maintain consistent production during the season. Hubbard also led the league in Kickoff Return Yards with 1,205 throughout the season and tallied 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns.
Last season the Wichita Wild organization and fans alike were disappointed that Hubbard was not recognized by the league for any final season awards after such an incredible season. This year Hubbard is sure to catch the attention of fans across the new league. With the addition of Hubbard to the 2013 roster, Coach Lolar's Wild team continues to build where they left off in 2012 as they hunt down a CPIFL championship.
