After hiring head Coach Romeo Lagmay, the Wild soon after hired Ronald Beatty as his assistant coach.

Coach Beatty is a standout local from Charleston, WV. He holds an all-American status from Stonewall Jackson HS and WVU Tech. Beatty has championships during his high school and university tenures. A teaching graduate from Tech, Coach Beatty has solid coaching experience with coaching stints at Portsmouth HS in Ohio and Capital and St. Alban's HS in Charleston.

"I look forward to be coaching back in the community of my hometown of Charleston. The IBL is based on community support, and I hope that the people of Charleston and West Virginia will allow us to have a successful, professional basketball organization when we officially start the league in March 2006," adds Ron Beatty. This is not the first time that Coach Beatty and Coach Romeo have worked together on the sideline. Together they were assistant coaches for the WVU Tech's men's basketball program for two years during the 2003-2005 seasons. Coach Romeo adds: "Ron has always been a great person to be around with, professionally and personally. He knows the game as a player with championship caliber experience and with over 15 years coaching experience. Ron also has a knack for good player-coach relationships. So his communication skills will play a vital role in developing in what we (The Wild) need to accomplish within our organization's philosophy in winning ball games." Also, the Wild has hired Brian Miller as the Director of Marketing and Promotions specializing in event planning. Brian is also an alumnus of WVU Tech who is currently employed there as a counselor working with the Upward Bound Program.

The WV Wild will be hosting their 1st Free Agent Tryout Camp on January 7th, 2006 starting at 9:00am at the Martin Luther King Center in Charleston. More camps will be held at later dates. For more information, you can contact the Wild at: www.westvirginiawildhoops.com or 304-720-2244.
