Wild Announce Signing of New Local Talent

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Wild is pleased to announce the signing of local talent, WR Clarence Anderson to camp for the 2014 season. His signing comes shortly after he showcased his skills at the Wild's open tryout about two weeks ago.
Head Coach, Paco Martinez sought out Anderson to try out for the Wild after first seeing him play in college. "I coached against Clarence when he was playing at Ottawa and I was at Friends, so I knew what kind of talent he had," Martinez said. "I thought he would fit well with the indoor game and I tried to get him out here last year before he decided to go play in Poland, but that didn't happen. I got ahold of him this year and he came out for tryouts...I'll be excited to see him compete for a spot on the team when camp rolls around."
A native of Wichita and a Southeast High School graduate, Anderson joins the Wild after most recently playing for the Warsaw Eagles in the Polish American Football league. In his time there, Anderson became well known for his punt returning skills, bringing back two kickoffs and five punts for touchdowns in addition to becoming a YouTube sensation for his 75 yard punt return against the Warsaw Spartans (which can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?vBe0kypzOcSU). Before his trek to Europe, Anderson was gaining attention at the college level at Ottawa University. Over four years, he managed to accumulate more than 4,300 receiving yards and 1,981 all-purpose yards his senior year which led the NAIA. Anderson's honors included two years as an NAIA All-American and three years as an All-KCAC pick.
"I wanted to experience something new and see if I can be successful in this league to see where this will get me," Anderson said. "I'm excited to be on board with the team, especially since being able to play here at home means my family and friends can watch me play!"
