WIFL combine to offer attendees video of workout

November 28, 2006 - World Indoor Football League 2 (WIFL 2) News Release

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The World Indoor Football League's efforts to utilize technology will benfefit attendees of the league-wide combine December 17 in Columbus, Ga.

Each workout station and drill will have a camera assigned to it, giving coaches an additional opportunity to evaluate talent. For a minimal fee ($12), players can purchase a copy of their individual workouts to submit to coaches and player personnel directors.

Columbus videographer Jim Anthony is overseeing the project, and will use the combine as a test bed for video use at Columbus Lions games during the league's inaugural season beginning in February.

"These won't be sky cams, but up close and quality video," said Columbus Lions Head Coach Jason Gibson. "A project like this has never been done before and our efforts will help the WIFL set the standards for professionalism and player opportunity."

WIFL Commissioner Gary Tufford echoed Gibson's outlook.

"The WIFL is all about getting players to the next level,'' Tufford said. "When we say we're going to get the players the game film and video they need to do so, we mean it. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product."

Representatives from all four WIFL teams will be on hand to evaluate talent. Tryout fees are $45 -- cash or money order only -- and include a t-shirt. Players are asked to wear turf shoes.
