WIFL announces 2007 schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The World Indoor Football League released the schedule for its inaugural 2007 season today.
Action begins February 11 when the Daytona Beach Thunder hosts the Augusta Spartans. The 14-game regular season concludes June 16 with the Columbus Lions traveling to the Osceola Ghostriders. The championship game is tentatively scheduled the weekend of June 28-30 hosted by the team with the best regular season record.
"Don't think for a second that just because we have only four teams that creating the schedule was a cakewalk,'' kidded WIFL commissioner Gary Tufford. "We dealt with arena availability and creating an even field of play that allows each team to succeed.
"It's exciting, because we now have definitive dates and can move forward," Tufford added. "It's time to truly focus on 2007."
