Wichita, KS - After three years with Hartman Sports, John Blazek, current General Manager of the Wichita Wild and also the CPIFL's Team Executive of the Year, has announced his retirement. His decision to retire comes shortly after the Wild's CPIFL championship win, which was a first for the franchise.

"Mr. Hartman hired me three years ago to bring a championship to the Wild organization and to Wichita; that goal has been accomplished. It's time for me to step down and let someone else take the reins. I am excited for my next chapter in life, and that is to spend more time with my grandchildren. I have spent 35 years with other kids and families and it's time to focus on my family now," Blazek stated. "The past three years working for Mr. Hartman have been some of the best years in my life. I have worked with some great people in my career and Wink Hartman, Morris Lolar, and Lebaron Hollimon are among those people."

Blazek's wife, Joan, also retired from the Maize School district at the close of the school year after 30 years in education. The Blazek's plan to spend more time with their family and each other. They said they will miss the relationships they have built with the players, fans, and sponsors over the years.
