London Lightning News Release
A possible 1st round play-off match-up between London Lightning and fourth seed Saint John Mill Rats thrilled 3214 fan at the John Labatt Centre. London pulled out a squeaker 93-89.
Coach Michael Ray Richardson expressed, "It was a terrible game defensively and we didn't really shoot the ball well, but we played well enough to win at the end."
London led 70-69 after 3. On their final possession, Saint John's Stanley Ocitti missed a 3 pointer that would have tied the game. The Lightning were happy to have Gabe Freeman back on the court, who started just as he left off, leading the Lightning to victory with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
"We didn't play our best game, but it was good being back on the court with Shawn and playing with my teammates," explained the leading scorer Gabe Free- man. "A little rusty at times, but at the end of the day we pulled a win off. Our team really depends on one another and we have been coming through for one another."
Your Lightning are on the road next week and will return home on March 1st to play the Quebec Kebs at 7pm.
