Danbury Whalers News Release
The Danbury Whalers are home for the final weekend of regular season home games this weekend. Games are Friday, March 6th vs. Watertown & Saturday, March 7th vs. Steel City. Gametimes for both games are at 7:35 PM.
The Whalers are in a battle for playoff positioning. Two wins this weekend could boost the Whalers to 3rd place. The playoffs get underway the following weekend - most likely the Whalers first playoff game will be on Friday, March 13th.

The Whalers team hockey set of hockey cards will be available on Friday - reserve your set today - limited quantities are available.
The 2nd Round of The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge on Friday night
Saturday night is the Danbury Whalers game worn Green Jersey Auction. Fans can place a bid and take home a game worn Whalers jersey at the end of the season.
Saturday night is also the 5th Annual Player Award Ceremony. In a pre-game ceremony the organization will announce the team award winners.
Callari Auto Group will try to give away a vehicle on Saturday. One fan takes a shot - put it in the net and you are driving home with a new vehicle.
Friday night features multiple fundraisers and promotions. At the game will be Good Samaritan Mission, Danbury Family Literacy, Faith Prep, and Our Lady of Fatima School . Saturday's fundraisers include - Saint Gregory The Great School, Danbury Ice Cabaret Ensemble
Paul Mitchel School, Rally for Skylar, and ARC.
ARC's mission is to "To facilitate interfaith cooperation and other partnerships to alleviate the causes of violence suffering and hated while advancing peace, justice and human dignity."

Skylar is a beautiful 2 year old girl here in Danbury with a smile that lights up every room. She is battling two types of cancer, and is putting up quite a fight. Skylar's family is paying for her chemo & all treatments out of pocket as the hospital she needs to treat at isn't covered by insurance. As you can imagine the bills are piling up so fundraisers like this, and generosity from people in our community are a HUGE help to the family.
On Saturday, March 7th we will be at the game with a donation table and several gift baskets to raffle off. 100% of proceeds from these raffles will go towards Skylars battle!!!!
We would like to thank the Danbury Whalers for their support and ask that you all please stop by the table, but more importantly please keep young Skylar in your prayers.

Danbury Whalers Hockey Card Set Available this Weekend

The Danbury Whalers will have a limited edition set of 2014-15 team hockey cards available for purchase this weekend. The team set features 24 cards and is a must for any Whalers fan.
Each pack retails for $12.

Danbury Whalers Green Jersey Auction this Saturday
This Saturday, March 7th at 7:35 pm when the Danbury Whalers take on the Steel City Warriors, the Whalers will be auctioning off their game worn Green Jerseys.
These are the actual jerseys the Whalers have been wearing all season.
This will be the only Green Jersey auction all season.
Fans can place a bid on the jerseys, the winners will be announced, but the jerseys will not be available until the end of the season. The jerseys come with the official player name plate, fight strap, and sponsor logos.

The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge This Friday, March 6th
This Friday, March 6th, at 7:35 PM, when the Danbury Whalers take on the Watertown Wolves at the Danbury Ice Arena, it's the 2nd round of The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge. The event will take place during the 1st intermission at center ice.
The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge features Danbury Whalers fans eating The Cookhouse award winning ribs. The contestants have 60 seconds to eat the meat off the bone. Whichever fan eats the most ribs with the cleanest bones is the winner.
Following the season, the participants who have won each Rib Eating Challenge are invited to The Cookhouse to take on the Danbury Whalers players in a rib eating contest.

Playoff Tickets On Sale

The Danbury Whalers have announced that tickets for the 2014-15 playoffs are now on sale. Fans can pre-purchase playoff tickets and will receive a $1 off discount. Tickets are $15.95 for adults & $12 for kids under 10.
Tickets can only be purchased by phone order by calling 973-713-7547. Online seat selection will be open over the weekend.
The Danbury Whalers have made the FHL Finals in three consecutive seasons. The Whalers won the championship in the 2012-13 season by sweeping the 1st Place Dayton Demonz.
The Federal Hockey League playoff features two rounds between the top four teams in the league. The Whalers, who have not yet clinched a playoff spot, are battling for the 3rd & 4th playoff positions. The first round opponent will be either Watertown or Dayton.
The 1st round series gets underway the weekend of Friday, March 13th. The complete schedule has yet to be determined as the final standings positions have not yet been determined.
Danbury Whalers Season ticket holders have the first right to renew their seats for all games. You will be contacted in the next few days or call the team office at 973-713-7547.
The general public can advance purchase seats and will be put into the best available location upon completion of the season ticket holder fulfillment.
Tickets for the playoffs will be marked Game A, B, C, & D. Dates and times will be announced.
Please note, the Danbury Whalers have not clinched a playoff spot. Any tickets purchased for games not played will be either refunded or credited towards next season.
