
West Virginia Blazers Fall To East Kentucky Miners

Bluefield, WV. The second face-off between the ABA WV Blazers and the East Kentucky Muiners (CBA) brought a determined Blazers team coming off the preivous loss to the Miners. The inter-league play is the third ABA game for the Miners and the second with the Blazers. When playing in CBA cities, CBA rules are used; vice versa in ABA cities.
The Blazers again went into the game with two starters out and a third Blazer was injured in a car accident on the way to the game. The Blazers came on strong and trailed 34-22 at the end of the first quarter and 64-44 at halftime. After reducing the deficiit to 15 in the third, the Miners went on to win 119-87. Leading the Blazers were Maurice Davis with 32, Corey Love with 19 and Desi Crisp with 16. The Blazers will host the Miners on Jan 11th in Bluefield at the Raleigh County Armory and hope to turn things around on their home court.
