West Coast Sports, LLC purchases Great Falls Explorers

November 26, 2007 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release


ALBANY, NY (Nov. 26, 2007) - The Continental Basketball Association, in conjunction with West Coast Sports, LLC (WCS), a Seattle-based investment group headed by former KONG-TV President and General Manager, Michael Tuckman, is pleased to announce the purchase of the Great Falls (MT) Explorers professional basketball franchise, a member of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), from Apex Sportstainment, LLC.

The Great Falls Explorers opened the 2007-08 CBA season with games Friday and Saturday night, November 16th and 17th at the Yakama Sun Kings. Great Falls posted a 24-24 regular season record in the 2006-07 CBA season. In the off-season, the team hired 14-year NBA veteran Scott Wedman as head coach and director of basketball operations. Wedman, a two-time NBA All-Star guard played for several NBA teams, including the Boston Celtics.

WCS also owns the Vancouver Dragons of the CBA and the market rights to an expansion franchise in the Arena Football League (af2) for Everett, WA (2009). Apex will continue to own the Minot Skyrockets and Butte Daredevils.
