New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - As the New England Revolution's off-season continues, the team's 2014 preseason plans have begun to take shape. The Revs will return to Tucson, Ariz., for the third-straight preseason to take part in the 2014 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, Feb. 19 to March 1.
The Revs, along with the Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, will join FC Tucson of the USL's Premier Development League in the fourth edition of the tournament. The Revolution finished second in the tournament in 2012, and third in 2013.
The Revolution is currently scheduled to open training camp ahead of the 2014 season in late January. Between now and then, there will be a Waiver Draft, the Re-Entry Process, the MLS Combine and the MLS SuperDraft to help the team continue to build its 2014 roster.
TEAM NOTES
Revolution Goal of the Year voting now open
The Revolution scored 49 goals this year - the team's most since 2007 - but the team has narrowed the total down to the top 16 for Revolution goal of the year voting ... four groups of four goals are vying to be voted the team's best this season ... Diego Fagundez and Kelyn Rowe each have four goals in the sweet 16, while Juan Agudelo and Saer Sene each have three goals ... Dimitry Imbongo and Ryan Guy each have one goal up for consideration ... Round of 16 voting will continue through Monday, Nov. 25, when the winner of each group will advance to the finals ... VOTE HERE.
Revolution Movember campaign hitting milestones
The Revolution's Movember campaign is approaching the $10,000 mark in donations, even before the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation's $2,500 match donation has been added ... the Revs are currently MLS' top stand-alone fundraising group - and sit second behind a combined effort from Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, including Toronto FC ... 65 people have committed to fundraising on the Revolution's behalf, including players Scott Caldwell, Andrew Farrell, Ryan Guy, Stephen McCarthy and Kelyn Rowe, as well as team president Brian Bilello ... to donate to the Revolution's Movember efforts, click HERE.

REVOLUTION ACADEMY YOUTH TEAMS UPDATE
Youth teams go 3-1-0 on the road
The New England Revolution youth teams posted a combined 3-1-0 record last weekend, as the Under-18s and Under-16s met BSC CT Academy at University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., on Saturday, Nov. 16, and the Under-14s traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C., to compete in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's U13/U14 East Regional Event ... the U18s earned a 3-0 shutout victory against BSC CT before the U16s suffered a 3-2 loss, while the U14s recorded a pair of wins against Jacksonville FC and D.C. United - 3-2 and 3-1, respectively.
U18s/U16s prepping for Winter Showcase
The U18s and U16s have a break from competition until Dec. 11-15, when they travel to Sarasota, Fla., to compete in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase ... the U18s are scheduled to play FC Dallas, D.C. United and the U.S. YNT Showcase Team, while the U16s will face the Portland Timbers, Shattuck-Saint Mary's and Sporting Kansas City.
U14s finish fall schedule
While the U14s will continue to train alongside the older squads, they have completed the fall portion of the 2013-14 Development Academy schedule and will next play BSC CT Academy in Bridgeport, Conn., on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
