The Chill came into the 2nd weekend in February with a lot of momentum. Coming into a matchup against the Wilderness, however, the Chill knew they would need to continue to be in their top form against the defending Robertson Cup Champions.

Like the weekend before the Chill got off to a fast start, jumping into a 2-0 lead with goals from Justin Kendall (Kevin Dineen, Larry Jungwirth assisted) and Dom Florian (Jackson Charlesworth, Kevin Dineen). The Wilderness got one of their own before the 1st intermission but the Chill held the 2-1 lead into the 2nd.

Things started going downhill for the Chill at the start of the 2nd when the Wilderness scored on a power-play goal 5:53 into the period. The Chill broke the tie off of Kendall's 2nd goal of the game but Minnesota struck back with their 2nd power-play goal of the period. Another Wilderness goal at the end of the 2nd game them the 4-3 lead.

Penalties continued to haunt and ultimately hurt the Chill in the 3rd. The Wilderness converted on two consecutive power plays before the Chill could get another goal in net. Minnesota finished the night 4-7 on power plays compared to 0-4 for Coulee Region.

Hunter Vorva was in net for the Chill and took the loss while Chase Munroe got the victory for the Wilderness.

Saturday nights matchup against the Austin Bruins in front of a packed house was full of momentum changes as the two teams faced off for the final time in their regular season series. Jungwirth (Dineen, Kendall) scored early in the first and the Chill held onto their 1-0 lead into the 2nd. Austin got on the board 14:42 in the the middle frame as the teams entered the 3rd deadlocked at one.

Jade Miller for the Bruins and Kendall for the Chill swapped goals in the 3rd and that'd be it for scoring in regulation.  Just 36 seconds into overtime Nico Luka converted to give the Chill the victory and a split on the weekend.

The Chill will have three chances for redemptions against the Wilderness as they welcome them into town for a three-game home series this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Each night the puck drops at 7pm; if you have a college ID Thursday night's game is free thanks to The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and The Hive.
