First USHL Goals: Three different newcomers to the Lancers scored their first USHL goals in their first weekend with the team... Edgar Viskantas, Mason Noble and Rylan Bydal all struck over the weekend... Viskantas scored his first USHL game Saturday vs. Chicago before Noble and Bydal both lit the lamp against Madison... Noble became the first and only Lancer defenseman so far to score a goal this season... Bydal tied for the team lead with 3 points (1+2) over the weekend...
Home Openers: The Lancers are 21-15-2-2 all time in their first home game of the regular season... Omaha dropped last season's home opener, 4-3, vs. Sioux Falls... This is the first time that the Lancers have faced the Buccaneers in a home opener since Oct. 9, 2015, a 3-2 Lancers win in overtime... Omaha has faced Des Moines in a home opener five other times, including in the first game in Lancers history Oct. 3, 1986, and is 3-3 vs. the Buccaneers... The Lancers hosted the Buccaneers in a home opener for four consecutive seasons from 1992-95 and split the four games...
Lancers To Watch: Yegor Kim registered two goals in Saturday night's game against Chicago... Kim followed that up with a primary helper the following evening against the Madison Capitols... Caine Bickel was held scoreless at the Fall Classic... However, Bickel notched at least one point in each of his preseason games, including a goal against Des Moines...
Buccaneers To Watch: Mason Jenson registered a hat trick last Thursday night against Youngstown... The former Tri-City Storm forward had an additional goal the previous night against the Muskegon Lumberjacks...
