
Week Two IFL Players Of The Week

Corpus Christi, Texas: The Intense Football League Office is proud to recognize the following players as the Week 2 IFL Players of the Week. With three games played this past weekend, each one of these athletes stood out with their individual performances to take the awards.
The Offensive Player of the Week in the IFL honor goes to WR Richard Morris of the Frisco Thunder. Morris led the way with 14 Receptions for 150 yards, scoring 3 Td's (10,10,15). He made a good portion of his catches on 3rd downs that kept the Frisco drives going.
The IFL Defensive Player of the Week was awarded to DB Demarcus James of the Alaska Wild. On a night that saw defensive records tied or broken, James led the way with a all around defensive effort. He tied the IFL record for interceptions in a game with 4. He set the IFL record for interceptions returned for TD with 3 (42, 40, 50), and interception returned yardage with 143 yards. He also registered 2.5 tackles and had a fumble recovery.
Special Teams Player of the Week was given to KR Derrick Wallace from the Katy Ruff Riders for his performance. Wallace led all kick returners for the week with 236 yards on 8 returns, with an average of 29.5, his long being 48 yards. He also recovered an onside kick late in the game that led to a score to tie their game at 63.
