The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Week 8 Vidswap.com Players of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Edward Wesley (RB, Wichita Falls Nighthawks)

The Nighthawks earned their second victory of the season, defeating the Colorado Ice 66-54 in Week 8. The win improves the Nighthawks record to 2-4, which is tied for 3rd place in the Intense Conference. After struggling to score points early in the year, the expansion team has found their groove over the past few weeks, averaging 62 points per game during the two game win streak. RB Edward Wesley (5'9, 200lbs, TCU) shined for the Nighthawks against Colorado, rushing for 90 yards on 12 carries and 4 TDs. For the season, Wesley ranks 8th in rushing yards (173) and 7th in rushing touchdowns (7). The Nighthawks and Ice will be back at it again in Week 9 with Wichita Falls looking to make it three wins in a row.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chris Hemphill (DB, Billings Wolves)

It was a weekend of first for the Billings Wolves. The Wolves earned their first win in team history, a dominating 56-37 road victory over the Green Bay Blizzard. In the process, DB Chris Hemphill (6'5, 235lbs., Washington) became the first Wolves player to earn a Player of the Week honor. Hemphill turned in one of the greatest performance in IFL history against the Blizzard. Defensively, Hemphill registered 1 tackle and 3 interceptions, returning one 45 yards for a TD. Offensively, Hemphill caught a 1-yard TD pass from QB Dak Brtt. Finally, Hemphill added a 15-yard kickoff return for a TD on Special Teams. Hemphill's tremendous day resulted in him becoming the first player in IFL history to score a touchdown in all three phases in a single game. The Wolves will look to build off of the momentum generated this past weekend when they take on the Tri-Cities Fever in Week 9.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Demetruce McNeal (KR, Cedar Rapids Titans)

The Titans improved to 5-2, outlasting the Bemidji Axemen 39-36 in Week 8. Both teams struggled to gain a rhythm offensively and Special Teams had a significant impact on the game. Titans KR/DB Demetruce McNeal (6'2, 200lbs., Auburn) had a big day in the return game, covering 127 yards on 6 returns (21.17 yards per return). He consistently set up the Titans offense with great field position during the contest. Additional, on defense, McNeal tallied 7 tackles and 1 interception. Thus far in 2015, McNeal ranks 3rd in the IFL with 52 tackles, 2nd with 3 interceptions, and 5th with 299 return yards. The Titans host the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 9.
