January 18, 2023 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) News Release
The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the Week Seven Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week winners. Chihuahua Savage's Edgar Gonzalez earned the offensive win and the St. Louis Ambush's Paulo Nascimento won the defensive honors.
Gonzalez had four goals and one assist for the Savage in Week Seven. One of his goals with the overtime winner against Monterrey to earn him first star honors for the evening. The native of Gómez Palacio, Durango is also a Mexican League champion and a world champion.
Nascimento recorded 19 saves in St. Louis's win against Utica City FC on Sunday. He allowed only three goals in the contest ending the game with a .864 save percentage. The veteran keeper is in his fifth season with the Ambush.
