The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 6 of the 2016 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dylan Favre (QB, Cedar Rapids Titans)
The Cedar Rapids Titans upset of the Sioux Falls Storm 60-57, ending a string of 22 consecutive games won by the Storm and in the process becoming an instant IFL classic. QB Dylan Favre's outstanding play (5'11,200, Univ. Tennessee -Martin) accounted for seven total touchdowns helping give the Titans the edge all night. Favre, the nephew of NFL Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre, scored the game-clenching touchdown for the Titans as he scrambled six yards and went up and over a Storm defender to cross the goal line. Favre completed an efficient 21 of 26 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns. In addition, Favre channeled his uncle as he improvised on the fly, rushing 12 times for 35 yards and three touchdowns, keeping the vaunted Storm defense off balance all night. The Titans will look to keep their momentum alive in the highly competitive United Conference as they host the Green Bay Blizzard this weekend.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lebron Daniel (DL, Iowa Barnstormers)
The Barnstormers defeated the Billings Wolves 38-20 moving to 3-1 in the season in an increasingly crowded United Conference. In a battle that featured the number two offense in the IFL and the number one defense, it was the Barnstormers' highly ranked offense that prevailed however not without significant help from their defense. DL Lebron Daniel (6'2, 250, Iowa) proved to be a disruptive force along the defensive line for Iowa as he sacked Billings QB Jawad Yatim twice. In addition, he finished the night with five total tackles and three tackles for loss. The Barnstormers travel to face the well-rested Spokane Empire in a battle of two historic organizations.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rockne Belmonte (K, Wichita Falls Nighthawks)
The Wichita Falls Nighthawks upset the Nebraska Danger 64-55 handing Nebraska their second consecutive loss, and their first loss at home since 2014. Nighthawks kicker and former IFL Special Teams Player of the Year, Rockne Belmonte was virtually perfect for the team as he made three of three field goals, with a longest of 36 yards, and converted seven of eight extra point attempts. Belmonte (6'0, 225, Northern Michigan) finished the night with 16 total points scored, the most of any kicker this season.The Nighthawks continue to make impacts in every aspect of play as a member of the team has now been named an IFL Player of the Week in four consecutive weeks. Belmonte and the Nighthawks enjoy a bye week this week before returning to host the Tri-Cities Fever on April 9.
