Week 10 of USSF D-2 Pro League Features Nine Games on Two Match Days

Under the auspices of the beginning of the World Cup, Week 10 of the D-2 Pro League was played on two nights this past week. Wednesday, June 9 kicked off with action in four matches. Melvin Tarley scored a late goal in the 87th minute to give the NSC Minnesota Stars a victory against the Montreal Impact and in Austin, the Aztex played the Portland Timbers to a scoreless draw. Back east, Miami FC scored two goals in the final six minutes to steal a 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace Baltimore. In Vancouver, the Whitecaps tied the Carolina RailHawks 1-1, earning the RailHawks a point on the road against the NASL Conference leaders. Saturday night featured five games, ensuring fans wouldn't have to choose between their local team and the U.S. National Team. The Montreal Impact continued their U.S. road trip with a 2-1 win against Miami FC, while the Rochester Rhinos also defeated Crystal Palace Baltimore 2-1. In a highly anticipated battle in Texas, the USL Conference leading Axtex fell 2-1 to NASL Conference leaders Vancouver. Miami FC was victorious against the Portland Timbers 1-0, and in each team's first action of the week, AC St. Louis went on the road and overcame the Puerto Rico Islanders 1-0.

Week 10 Quick Hits

Austin's eight game unbeaten streak was brought to an end by the hands of Vancouver.

Minnesota brought their eight game winless skid to halt with their win at home against Montreal.

With a win and a draw, Vancouver remains atop the NASL Conference and takes the second-best overall record in the league behind Austin.

Week 11 Preview

Week 11 kicks off June 16 with Puerto Rico playing host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 8:05 p.m. ET. The lone Thursday match this week will pit the Portland Timbers against the NSC Minnesota Stars at 10 p.m. ET at PGE Park in Portland, Oregon. Saturday's matches will begin with the return fixture of the Thursday matchup with Minnesota at home to Portland at 8 p.m. ET in Blaine, Minnesota. Crystal Palace Baltimore travels to Carolina for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff, while league leaders Austin play host to Miami FC at 8:30 p.m. ET at House Park. Puerto Rico will be finishing up their home stand this week when they host Tampa Bay at 8:05 p.m. ET in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The final match of Week 11 will be Sunday afternoon in Montreal when the Rochester Rhinos pay a visit to the Impact at 2 p.m. ET.
