Florence Y'alls News Release
FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Y'alls (49-35) picked up a 6-2 win over Lake Erie on Tuesday night, led by strong pitching and early run support.
After 20 hits and 14 runs on Sunday, the offense started things again with six runs in the first four innings. Cole Brannen worked a leadoff walk in the first, stole second, and came home to score on two wild pitches, taking a 1-0 lead. In the second, Brett Blomquist roped an RBI ground-rule double to bring home Dillon Baker, and Zade Richardson followed with a two-run bloop single to push across Blomquist and Kyle Harbison. Blomquist launched another RBI double in the fourth, extending the lead to 6-1.
Evan Webster toed the rubber for Florence and exacted revenge on the Crushers, who pounded him for 11 runs and 14 hits just last week. The Southpaw was given early run support and took advantage, keeping Lake Erie off-balance all night. The Northern Kentucky native finished with seven complete frames, allowing two runs on eight hits and collecting three strikeouts for his 10th win of the season.
The Y'alls offense went quiet past the fourth inning, and they were outhit 8-5, but that didn't matter with Webster's performance and Aidan McEvoy's dominance out of the pen. The 2026 All-Star reliever walked the first batter he faced but struck out the next six and closed out the final two innings of the 6-2 win.
Florence returns to ForeFront Field for game two of the three-game series with Lake Erie. LHP Eli Majick returns to the Florence staff and opposes Lake Erie's LHP Cobe Reeves. First pitch is set for 6:30 PM ET.
