Weather forces relocation of Aces game

March 22, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Rapid City Flying Aces News Release

Rapid City, SD - Due to the recent bad weather in the north region, the NIFL, in cooperation with the Lincoln Capitols and Rapid City Flying Aces, have moved the game scheduled for Lincoln this Saturday, to Rapid City. The game is now scheduled for Friday, March 24 @ 7:05 PM in Rapid City, SD.

"We were hit with fifteen inches of snow," stated Brandon Curry, Assistant General Manager of the Aces. "They [Lincoln Capitols] were unable to leave immediately, because of the weather, and with more weather possibly on the way, everyone agreed it would be safer to play the game here [in Rapid City]."

Both owners have agreed to this change, and the Rapid City Flying Aces are doing the best to ensure Rapid City gets the most of this ‘bonus' game.

"Tickets are available for $6.00 each, and that's just the start", said Curry. "Hot dogs, beer, popcorn, and more will be sold for only a $1 each! We have great fans in Rapid City, and we want everyone to enjoy the opportunity we [the Flying Aces] have of playing another home game."

Season ticket holders and corporate box holders will be able to attend the game for free, as a bonus game. "We felt this was a good opportunity to give back to the fans and businesses that supported us from the beginning," said Curry. Game tickets for the season ticket holders will be available for pickup at a Flying Aces stand near the civic center box office starting at 4 pm on Friday, up until kickoff at 7:05pm.

Single game tickets for the "Bonus Game" are also available at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Box Office or by calling 1-800-GOTMINE. All tickets for this game will be $6 general admission ticket. "We were fortunate to be awarded this game because of uncontrollable circumstances, so we have teamed up with the Civic Center & Coors Light to bring fans an unforgivable night," said Curry.

Anybody who has not checked a Flying Aces game yet this season, here your chance, $6 gets you in the door for a non-stop, action packed game, where you're able to get beer, snacks, and hotdogs for a dollar.

The NIFL is focused on not only providing affordable family entertainment, but to ensure the safety of our teams and players. The NIFL apologizes for any inconvenience this schedule change may cause. If you have questions, please contact the NIFL Front Office at, (888) 422-9682 or (314) 809-9716.
