Washington Glory News Release

STERLING, VA - The Washington Glory of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) softball league today announced they agreed to release rookie infielder Bianca Cruz from her contract to pursue other opportunities.

"Bianca Cruz is a fine softball player and a terrific person and we are sad to see her leave," said team owner Paul Wilson. "She has many diverse interests that she wants to explore after a lifetime dedicated to sports and we are releasing her from her contractual obligations to allow her to do so. We wish her nothing but the best on her journey."

Cruz struggled to find playing time as the Glory look to defend their 2007 championship. She became one of the most visible and popular members of the squad during several media and public appearances.

The Glory will return to action at the Westfield Sports Complex on Thursday as they begin a homestand against the Rockford Thunder. For more information, including tickets, please visit www.washingtonglory.com.
