Wagner claims another record

NEW YORK - San Jose SaberCats WR/DB BARRY WAGNER, a 15-year AFL veteran, etched his name onto another page of the AFL record book last week when he passed HUNKIE COOPER to become the League's all-time leader in all-purpose yards.

Wagner, who missed the first six games of 2006 with a hamstring injury, recorded 200 kickoff return yards in the SaberCats loss to Los Angeles giving him a career total of 20,623 and vaulting him past Cooper who spent his entire 12-year AFL career (1993-2004) with Arizona.

Wagner was named the second-best player in AFL history by the 20th Season Historical Committee in January and already held many AFL records, including most points (2,386), most touchdowns (406), most rushing touchdowns (125), most receptions (962) and most receiving yards (13,090).
