Voting Down To Top 20 Most Spectacular Individual Plays Of The 2009 Season

NEW YORK (Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009) - Through online voting, the fans have chosen the top 10 goals and top 10 saves from the 2009 MLS regular season. Now fans can select the 2009 AT&T Goal of the Year and Degree Men Save of the Year from the final list of nominees. Voting for these awards closes on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Voting began on Nov. 3 with fans able to select from all Goal of the Week and Save of the Week winners from the regular season and additional nominees. The 2009 AT&T Goal of the Year and Degree Men Save of the Year will be announced on Nov. 18, 2009. This year marks the inaugural season for the Degree Men Save of the Year.

Arturo Alvarez, SJ (Week 11): Alvarez glides in from the right side and sets up a shot on his preferred left foot from 20 yards out that bends into the left upper 90 putting San Jose up 2-0 over Real Salt Lake.

Davy Arnaud, KC (Week 1): Wizards midfielder and MLS All-Star Davy Arnaud rips a blistering left-footed shot from nearly 30 yards that sails past helpless Toronto FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei and slams off the underside of the crossbar and over the line.

Landon Donovan, LA (Week 21): On a busted play, Donovan pulls out a stunning left-footed volley that curls into the far left side netting past New England's Matt Reis to give LA a 1-0 lead.

Alecko Eskandarian, LA (Week 18): Eskandarian pulls magic out of a hat, as he "sombreros" New York's Albert Celades before sending a dipping left-footed volley over the head of Red Bulls' goalkeeper Danny Cepero.

Patrick Ianni, SEA (Week 17): Against his former team, the new Sounders FC defender latches onto a loose ball in the six-yard box and delivers an instinctive overhead kick into the left side netting giving Seattle a 2-1 lead over Houston.

Edgaras Jankauskas, NE (Week 25): Jankauskas, the Revolution's Lithuanian forward, hits a first-time volley from nearly 25 yards out that dips over the head of Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

Claudio Lopez, KC (Week 19): The Argentine attacker collects a loose ball in his own half and alertly delivers a 70-yard shot over the head of Galaxy keeper Donovan Ricketts.

Clint Mathis, RSL (Week 6): Prolific goalscorer turned holding midfielder, Clint Mathis slams a thunderous left-footed volley into the net, directly off a corner kick service to put RSL up 2-0 over the Revolution.

Fredy Montero, SEA (Week 28): The 2009 MLS Newcomer of the Year slaloms through the Revolution defense and hits a 30-yard dipping bomb over Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis.

Marco Pappa, CHI (Week 16): Pappa finishes off a beautifully set up play with a left footed curling strike into the upper left corner, putting the Fire up 1-0 over the Rapids.

Preston Burpo, COL (Week 31): The Rapids goalkeeper leaps in a full stretch to deflect a David Ferreira shot over the crossbar keeping Colorado in the game on the road against FC Dallas.

Geoff Cameron, HOU (Week 31): Houston Dynamo defender Cameron recovers behind his goalkeeper to save a shot from LA forward Edson Buddle with an acrobatic bicycle kick just before the ball would have crossed the goal line.

Joe Cannon, SJ (Week 11): Holding on to a 2-1 lead in stoppage time against Real Salt Lake, San Jose keeper Joe Cannon dives at full stretch to rob Yura Movsisyan's game-tying attempt.

Kevin Goldthwaite, NY (Week 5): With the ball ricocheting toward the net off of Yura Movsisyan, Red Bulls' defender Kevin Goldthwaite hustles back to clear the ball off the line to preserve a 1-0 lead over Real Salt Lake

Kevin Hartman, KC (Week 32): Kansas City goalkeeper Hartman recovers just in time to tip a Ben Olsen shot over the cross bar to keep the Wizards ahead of D.C. in the closing minutes.

Tyrone Marshall, SEA (Week 29): Protecting a 1-0 lead on the road in a must-win game, Seattle defender Tyrone Marshall acrobatically redirects a Steven Lenhart header away from the goal and clears the successive rebound attempt.

Pat Onstad, HOU (Week 5): With his team ahead 1-0 late in the 2nd half, Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad stones Rapids' forward Conor Casey on a PK attempt and covers the length of the goal to deny the rebound attempt by an onrushing Terry Cooke.

Nick Rimando, RSL (Week 19): In the 71st minute of a tie game, RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando delights the crowd by stopping MLS Golden Boot Winner Jeff Cunningham's penalty kick attempt, and holds the ball to ensure Real Salt Lake's escapes the situation unscathed.

Dario Sala, DAL (Week 30): Sala gets down quickly on a well-struck Antonio Ribeiro shot destined for the corner of the goal to push it wide.

Zach Thornton, CHV (Week 6): MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Zach Thornton, stops in his tracks and reverses direction to make an huge one-handed stop on a point blank shot by FC Dallas midfielder Dax McCarty.
