New Orleans VooDoo News Release
NEW ORLEANS (January 30, 2014) - The New Orleans VooDoo and SMG have agreed to terms on an Agreement that will keep the VooDoo home games in the New Orleans Arena for the next three years, through the 2016 season. "Last year was pretty tough for our coaches, players, AND our fans, having to move across Girod to the Mercedes Superdome," said VooDoo Managing Partner Dan Newman. "Renovations to The New Orleans Arena are finished and we're back at home." Newman continued, "SMG is a great partner for us. Alan Freeman (GM of the Mercedes Superdome and the New Orleans Arena) has been fantastic working with us through the last three seasons. We're excited to extend that relationship through 2016."
The VooDoo start the 2014 season on the road at Tampa Friday night, March 14. After a Week 2 bye, the VooDoo will open the 2014 Home Schedule March 29th, hosting the Cleveland Gladiators. After a really short week, the Orlando Predators come to NOLA for a Thursday night tilt in the Graveyard, April 3rd. Head Coach Pat O'Hara heads into the 2014 season expecting good things from his team. "We're bringing back a good nucleus of veterans and have signed a really strong group of players to complete our 35 man training camp roster," said O'Hara. " VooDoo fans are going to see some good play from our team, and we're ALL really glad to be back in The Graveyard."
