San Antonio - The New Orleans VooDoo earned its second win of the season, Saturday night, defeating the San Antonio Talons 62-44 in The Alamo Dome.
The game was back and forth with both offenses firing on all cylinders in the first half, and the score tied at 28 going into halftime. Following halftime, the VooDoo pulled away to seal the victory.
VooDoo Quarterback Kurt Rocco finished 14-30 for 263 yards 2 Interceptions, and 7 touchdowns. Rocco's top target on the night was LJ Castile who finished with 7 receptions for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dwayne Eley was a major factor in the first half success for the VooDoo hauling in 3 receptions for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. Eley injured his knee on a crossing route reception in the first half. Wide Receiver Carlese Franklin finished the night with 2 touchdowns, 1 from Rocco and the other rushing.
The VooDoo defensive backfield continued to shine with Cameron McGlenn registering 9 tackles and 2 interceptions, putting him at 7 interceptions on the season. DB Demarcus Robinson was 2nd on the team in tackles with 8.
The New Orleans VooDoo defeated the Talons for the first time in franchise history with the victory tonight.
The VooDoo (2-6) return to The Graveyard next Saturday at 7:00pm to take on the 4-4 Iowa Barnstormers. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and 99.5 WRNO.
