New Orleans VooDoo News Release

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans VooDoo have acquired defensive lineman Anthony Grady and offensive lineman Gavin Farr, announced the VooDoo front office Friday afternoon.

Grady (6-6, 285, Missouri State) enters his first season in the Arena Football League. During his collegiate career, Grady earned All-Missouri Valley Football Conference second-team honors and finished out his senior season by leading all Bears defensive linemen with 48 tackles and 2.5 sacks to go along with 12 quarterback pressures and 5 pass breakups.

The Texarkana, Texas native finished his career with 108 total tackles in 34 games with 14.5 TFLs, 9.0 sacks and 6 PBUs.

"Anthony is long, athletic pass rusher with tremendous upside," said Head Coach Cokinos. "He was a highly rated NFL free agent coming out of Missouri State, and he was in camp with the Jets. At this point, Anthony needs some playing time to sharpen his skill set. We are excited to get him in New Orleans. He has a good work ethic, and he plays fast."

Grady recently spent time with the New York Jets of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent.

Farr (6-2, 305, Southern Utah) enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League. In 2010, Farr was named second team All-Great West at center, as well as the media's pick as Great West offensive lineman of the year. He went on to end up on the first team All-Great West in 2011 and first team All-Big Sky in 2012.

During his senior season, Farr was named as a third team All-Big Sky member.

The Thunderbirds finished the 2013 season ranked No. 21 in the Sports Network Poll and No. 24 in FCS Coaches Poll after competing in the FCS playoffs for the first time in school history.

"Gavin is a smart, tough, hard nosed player who will add a physical presence to our offensive line," said Head Coach Cokinos. "I really like the tenacity that he plays on the field. He is a good signing for the VooDoo. I think Gavin's best days are still ahead of him."
