NEW ORLEANS (November 29, 2012) - The Arena Football League has assigned offensive lineman Nyere Aumaitre to the New Orleans VooDoo, announced the VooDoo front office Wednesday, November 28th.
Aumaitre (6-4, 300, Iowa) was with the Philadelphia Soul during the 2011 season where he started 14 games. He remained with the Soul for the 2012 season before being released. Aumaitre then signed with the Cleveland Gladiators for the remainder of the season. While with the Gladiators, Aumaitre accumulated three receptions for 30 yards and completed 1 touchdown.
"Aumaitre is a veteran offensive lineman in the AFL," said VooDoo Head Coach Pat O'Hara. "We are looking forward to having him help protect Kurt Rocco in order for us to have a great 2013 season."
