August 11, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release
Atlanta, GA. The ABA Atlanta Vision professional basketball team that begins play in November today announced it would hold one last Open Player Tryout Camp for the upcoming season on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th at the Samson's Center located at 6400 Woodrow Road in Lithonia, GA 30038. "We are looking to invite approximately 25 players to our Vet Camp that starts on November 1st," stated Atlanta Vision owner Quentin Townsend. "The Atlanta Vision is ideal for talented overlooked players or those not selected to play in the NBA because the Vision provides exposure, development and the platform to play competitively for 48 minutes. Our new team is guaranteed to bring non-stop, high-flying basketball excitement to loyal Atlanta fans."
Players and scouts can view pictures and statistics of each tryout participant on the Vision's web site, www.theatlantavision.com, under Tryout Profiles. Due to the tremendous success of the first sold out tryout camp and having to turn players away at the door who did not pre-register, interested players are encouraged to pre-register online to insure a spot at the October Tryout Camp. Players must provide completed application materials including a $125 registration fee by Friday, September 2, 2005. The fee will be $175 after September 2nd only if spots are still available. There are two ways to register. Option 1: Register and pay completely online at www.theatlantavision.com or Option 2: Mail Money Order or Cashier's Check payable to "Atlanta Vision" with your completed application materials, must be postmarked by September 2, 2006. Mail to Atlanta Vision, 2005 Scenic Highway, Suite C-300, Snellville, GA 20078.
"Players will be exposed to true vital measurements, strength conditioning and the expertise of Dennis Scott and invited professional coaches, trainers and scouts," stated Townsend. "It will be a phenomenal experience for players and scouts. We are building a fresh new team and the window of opportunity is wide open because every position is available. Early registration is so vital because Atlanta is such a great place to live and play. Players are already signing up and space is limited. Let there be no mistake...the Vision is here, the Vision is now!"
Dennis Scott and the Atlanta Vision staff will also hold a Youth Back-to-School Basketball Clinic on Saturday, August 20th. The Atlanta Vision 36 game season begins in November and goes to mid-March with 18 home games at The Samson's Center, 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, GA. Tryout registraton, youth camp registration, your season passes, VIP tickets and group packages are all available for purchase online at www.theatlantavision.com.
