Vipers Beat Law 68-43, 6,766 Fans Pack The LEC

LAREDO, Texas - The Tennessee Valley Vipers improved their record to 2-1 and kept the Laredo Law winless (0-3) with a 68-43 victory on the Law's inaugural arenafootball2 home game at the Laredo Entertainment Center in front of 6,766 fans Friday night.

Vipers Jerrian James was the Baby Ruth Offensive Player of the Game with 13 receptions for 186 yards and four touchdowns. Ronney Daniels also had 4 touchdowns for the Vipers, which did not go unnoticed as he received the US Army Ironman of the Game. Daniels also forced one of five Laredo fumbles on the night. Andy Fuller recorded two sacks on defense for the Vipers to earn ADT Defensive Player of the Game.

Quarterback Bryan Snyder shared time with Josh Kellett for the Vipers and both were effective. Snyder was 19 of 27 for 212 yards passing with 6 touchdown tosses and Kellett was 4 of 5 for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Vipers offense produced five touchdowns in a span of 1:00 or quicker.

The Law found themselves trailing 35-14 at the half, but warmed up as the game progressed and tallied 29 of their 43 points in the second half. Quarterback Josh Rogers was 16 of 34 in the game, passing for 191 yards and 5 touchdowns. Laredo excelled in the special teams department, recording 175 kickoff return yards off 7 returns. Martino Theus had 4 returns for 89 yards and P.J. Winston returned a kickoff 52 yards for a touchdown. He finished the game with 86 yards off 3 returns.

The Law, who were finally able to introduce arena football to Laredo will remain home next weekend, as they host the Rio Grande Valley Dorados.
